Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) is a free platform that provides users with a persistent unique identifier to manage their personal identity. This session provides a brief introduction to ORCID and how it differs from traditional name authority control, then moves to a guided discussion focusing on how ORCID identifiers can be implemented into existing workflows, system considerations, implementation challenges, sustainability, and identity management alternatives such as ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier).
